OPTICAL FIGURING SPECIFICATIONS
FOR THIN SHELLS TO BE USED IN ADAPTIVE TELESCOPE MIRRORS

Abstract
The present report describes the guidelines to define the optical figuring specifications for thin shells to be used in adaptive optics correctors like Deformable Secondary Mirrors (DSMs). In particular the numerical example for a thin shell for a VLT DSM is considered in the framework of its straw-man design.
