Software Project for the Infrared Instruments

Abstract
The present report describes the project to realize a new program for the control of the infrared instruments ARNICA and LONGSP. We have chosen as general approach the development of our software as open distributed system, based on X11 standards. Hardware support will be isolated in device-dependent modules. It permits to support both instruments ARNICA and LONGSP by the same software and offers a softer transition to the GALILEO instrumentation system. New possibilities for data analysing during the observations are provided for observers.
