Abstract

This document describes the requirements for a software system which integrates all the functionalities needed to carry out an astronomical measurement.

Emphasis is put on the realization of a control and acquisition program for the ARcetri COrrelator Spectrometer (ARCOS). However, the structure design has a very general approach, so that it can be easily adapted to different detectors, telescopes and archive systems.

This document encompasses the analysis step of the design method referred to as Object Modeling Technique, which developes through the object, dynamic and functional models. The remaining three steps of the method, i.e. System Project, Object Project and Implementation will be described in later reports.
