Guided Tours

As part of its educational and scientific dissemination activities, the Observatory opens its doors to the public by organizing guided tours with observations of the sky.

Visits and observations have the following procedure:
daytime visits (reserved for schools): Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00
night visits for organized groups with a minimum number of 15 participants up to a maximum of 25 people at 21:00 and 23:00

Daily guided tours include:

  • Visit of the astronomical park
  • Observations of the solar photosphere and sunspots with the Amici telescope
  • Observations of the solar chromosphere with a telescope equipped with an H-alpha filter
  • Observations of cosmic rays and natural radioactivity with the cloud chamber
  • Observations of the decomposition of the light of the Sun into its colors with the spectroscope
  • For teachers: methods of carrying out the visits

Nightly guided tours include

  • Visit of the astronomical park
  • Observations of stars and planets with the Amici telescope and other small telescopes
  • Observations of cosmic rays and natural radioactivity with the cloud chamber

In case of poor visibility, alternative activities are planned such as video projections, astronomers' conferences.
In the Amici pavilion it is also possible to purchase publications of a popular nature.
